Marie Selby Botanical Gardens
Experience Nature Where Fun Is In Full Bloom
The Marie Selby Botanical Gardens in Sarasota, Florida is a not-for-profit institution fostering understanding and appreciation of tropical plants, especially epiphytes (plants that grow on other plants), through programs of research, conservation, education and display. Selby Gardens is perhaps best known for its living collection of more than 6,000 orchids.
The 9.5-acre bayfront property is an open-air and under-glass museum of more than 20,000 colorful plants, many collected in the wild on over 150 scientific expeditions to tropical rain forests by Selby Gardens research staff. Seven greenhouses are the heart of botanical research and plant identification, for which Selby Gardens is internationally recognized.
Throughout the grounds of the historic Selby estate are many distinct garden areas, including the Tropical Display House with its lush rain forest atmosphere, the towering Bamboo Pavilion, Banyan Grove, Cactus and Succulent Garden and Cycad Collection. Also on the grounds is the former Christy Payne Mansion, a unique example of eclectic Southern Colonial architecture. The Mansion, on the National Register of Historic Places, is the home to ever-changing botanical art and photography exhibits.
Children will delight in our indoor “rainforest,” brilliant dart frog collection, and our gardens abundant with tropical flora and fauna. More than 150 scientific expeditions to rainforests around the world have contributed to our collection of more than 20,000 living plants, truly a wonder to see!

G-Whiz -The Science Museum
G.WIZ makes science relevant, technology understandable, and learning an interactive adventure.
In May 1993, recognizing the educational and cultural value the science center added to the community, the Sarasota City Commission voted to provide GCWS with a new permanent home, the former Selby Library building. In December 1997, the city commission reconfirmed its commitment to provide the bay front facility to the science center and a 20-year lease for the building was signed in January 1998. With the lease secured, the board implemented plans for the move to the new facility.
The Board worked with Hands-On, a nationally recognized museum planning company, to create a fresh image for the evolving science center. In May 1998 the Hands-on Science and Technology Center was reborn. With a name change to the Gulfcoast Wonder & Imagination Zone, “G.WIZ” moved into the newly renovated site in June of 2000 and proudly opened its doors to the public on August 26th, 2000. The $3.5 million 33,000 sq. ft. facility located downtown on Sarasota’s bay front was the perfect place for GCWS to be transformed into a world-class science and technology center.
Since early 2006 traveling exhibitions such as “Dinosaurs,” “Ice Age Florida,” and “Tutankhamun” have been displayed in our galleries to offer visitors a variety of learning experiences. The ever-popular “Bodies Revealed” exhibit brought in over 41,000 people in just nine weeks. These exhibits have proven successful for G.WIZ. We set new daily and monthly attendance records in 2007 and have reached new heights in family membership. Today, G.WIZ is poised for growth and continued development.
Sarasota Jungle Gardens
Sarasota Jungle Gardens is one of the oldest continuously operating attractions in the State of Florida. Open to the public in December of 1940, the “Gardens” has retained its old Florida charm and very little has changed over the past sixty-eight years. A visit to the Gardens will bring back the memories of Florida days gone by.
Many of the animals that you will see at Sarasota Jungle Gardens came to us through many sources. Some were rescued from adverse or inhumane conditions and some were donated by pet owners who could no longer care for their charges. Many of the rare and endangered exotic birds were given to us by various rescue organizations nationwide. Our native Florida Crocodiles, which are a “species of concern”, are on loan to us from the Saint Augustine Alligator Farm and a local breeder to use for educational and conservation purposes.

Serenoa Golf Club
When course designer, Mark Alden, was charged with the Serenoa Golf Club project, he obviously set out to design a course unlike the typical Sarasota, Florida golf courses. His vision, combined with the existing wetlands and natural lay-of-the-land to create a masterpiece that Florida Golf News calls one of the top 100 courses in Florida and one of the top three in Sarasota!
What Alden did was to take the rubberstamp Florida golf course and throw it to the wind. He took the short, 6,270-yard layout and made it play more like 7,200 by bringing water into play on every single hole and creating a true shot-maker`s course! So forget the usual tee-shot between two bunkers to a slightly elevated green guarded by two bunkers of your typical Sarasota course and welcome the variety and stiff challenge of Serenoa Golf Club.

Yellow Strawberry Global Salon
Our trends appear radical or high fashion, but when you look beyond, there are elements in every one of our looks that can be reinterpreted. Our trends are created to inspire rather than to be literally translated. We know our client's might not wear our complete trend look, but they may choose to sport a specific aspect of the look: the shape, the fringe, the color or the color pattern. By working these elements into a client's look, we can create a sense of freshness and a visionary of hair art.
